YOSEFF TUCKER AND THE BOW TIES

West Coast Bluegrass

About

Shaped by the great Northern California bluegrass scene, the Bow Ties play both original and traditional bluegrass music infused with drive and soul. They honor the pioneers while carving a sound that is all their own. The Bow Ties have brought their music to stages across the country, including Hardly Strictly, Rockygrass, the CBA’s Father Day Bluegrass Festival, and many more.

Yoseff Tucker - Guitar

Yoseff’s early exposure to traditional bluegrass music came courtesy of his fiddler grandfather who moved to Central California from Oklahoma during the Great Depression. Tucker is known for his powerful tenor voice, driving rhythm guitar, and his ability to craft new old songs.

Zach Sharpe - Bass

Sharpe was raised by bluegrass pickers in the backwoods of Indiana. He is the engine behind the band’s driving sound. You might have seen Sharpe playing the Telluride bluegrass festival with Caleb Klauder and Reeb Willms, or performing with the Rockygrass and Telluride winning Front Country.

Jack Kinney - Fiddle

Kinney cut his teeth on contest fiddling before transitioning to a heartfelt traditional bluegrass fiddle style. You may have also seen him playing the Telluride bluegrass festival with Caleb and Reeb, and on many stages throughout the west with the Central Valley Boys.

Billy Moore - Banjo

Timing, tone, taste. Moore has dedicated himself to a banjo style at the intersection of Scruggs and Stanley. Prior to the Bow Ties, he made a name for himself playing with The Del Williams Band and the Central Valley Boys.

Caleb Roberts - Mandolin

Originally from Columbia, SC, Roberts grew up listening his father's bluegrass record collection which likely led to him founding Open Road in 1999. Open Road recorded three beloved albums on Rounder Records. Roberts is recognized for his deep heartfelt classic style of mandolin playing.

Michael Carroll - Snare

Since childhood, Carroll has been drumming on any surface within reach, leading to a First Line Snare Drum Scholarship at Georgia Southern University. Carroll lends his impeccable timing to the Bow Ties, as well as the Caleb Klauder and Reeb Willms Country Band.
